ink cartridges
Ink cartridges are expensive and it pays to shop around. My personal favourite supplier is www.ink2u.co.uk. They don't remove the VAT but the delivery is free which works out about the same difference, and their delivery is always quick. Their website is also incredibly easy to use unlike some suppliers - you simply choose the make and model of your printer from the drop-down boxes and they show you the cartridges that you can buy for that particular printer.
When it comes to "genuine" versus "non-genuine" cartridges, I use the following rules:
if the printer is still under warranty, use only "genuine" cartridges
if the printer is out of warranty, you can start using "non-genuine" cartridges if they are significantly cheaper
never never never use "refilled" or "refurbished" cartridges, they will ruin your printer at some point
